Transparency: Risk or Opportunity?
Conversations about corporate responsibility from the legal & investor perspective
Prove it. That's what customers, communities, employees, and, increasingly, investors are saying: Give us the facts about your environmental, social, and governance performance. Don't just say you're committed to corporate responsibility—prove it. But for most companies, disclosure implies risk. So legal counsel and investor relations officers face a delicate balancing act: how to mitigate risk, maintain confidentiality, and protect company reputation while providing the level of disclosure that stakeholders demand.
A remarkable opportunity. Transparency regarding even hot-button issues such as executive compensation, diversity, and environmental performance can actually build loyalty, increase brand equity
and access to capital, and boost profitability and shareholder return. Your challenge is to find the right balance between protecting your company and being accountable to stakeholders.
This event will help you do just that. Join us for this highly interactive one-day forum to explore strategic disclosure and better understand your unique role in the process.
You'll learn how to:
- Send the right message. Understand — and communicate to your investors and executive team—the relationship between corporate responsibility, transparency, and financial performance.
- Determine an appropriate level of disclosure. Evaluate stakeholder concerns, material issues, risks, and opportunities to develop an approach that's right for your business.
- Position investor relations as a partner. Effectively engage with socially responsible investors and activist shareholders.
- Build bridges. Leverage your unique position and expertise in building a robust and coordinated internal corporate responsibility effort.
Interact with experts from both sides of the table!
This workshop features expert-led interactive sessions, case studies, and roundtable discussions that focus on real situations and dilemmas—from both internal and external stakeholder perspectives. You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of the complexities of disclosure and the practical tools you need to shape effective corporate responsibility communication in your own organization.
